Permanent laser hair removal
Permanent hair removal with the Nd:YAG laser
Laser hair removal is the most effective and rapid method of resolving ingrown hairs, whether for aesthetic or therapeutic purposes.
The aim of the treatment is to improve the targeted area rather than achieve perfection.
Hair disappearance depends on factors such as pain tolerance, hair color, the area treated, hormonal fluctuations and regularity of sessions.
In general, about 80% hair reduction is observed after six treatments, with residual hair being lighter and finer.
Although the laser can treat tanned skin, maximum effectiveness is achieved by avoiding tanning booths and sun exposure (in the area to be treated) for at least 48 hours before and after each session.
We also recommend refraining from using self-tanning creams during this period.
If necessary, we recommend applying a sunblock to the area concerned.
As far as medication is concerned, it’s vital that you inform us of any new or changed medication you take between treatment sessions.
Before the appointment
Before waxing, shave closely with a hand razor.
For the face, we cut the hair during the treatment.
Allow 4-5 mm of regrowth (3 to 5 days) to assess hair growth.
Avoid creams and antiperspirants on the day of treatment to avoid blocking the laser light.
Use an exfoliating glove and cream between sessions.

After treatment
Avoid shaving the area after laser hair removal, as burned hairs will fall out more easily if they retain their length.
Shaving may cause small pieces of dead hair to become trapped under the skin.
Temporary side effects may occur, such as redness, swelling, sensitivity or itching in the treated areas.
These reactions are normal and usually disappear within 48 hours.
To relieve these symptoms, you can apply cold water compresses, aloe vera or a hydrocortisone cream.
